Loved One Arrested? What You Should Know About Posting Bail

One night I was sitting at home relaxing when my husband called me from jail. He told me he had been arrested and asked me to post bail. I had no idea how bail worked. I didn't know if I should do it, what it would cost or how to go about doing it. I created this website because I know that others may find themselves in the position that I once found myself in. I hope my information helps you make a decision on whether or not to post bail, and teaches you what to expect should you do so.

3 Things An Employment Law Attorney Can Help You With

Most adult Americans work in some sort of contracted employment setting. If you work for an employer, then you should know that there are certain things that you can do to protect yourself. Many people find that they are in a situation where their rights have been compromised, and they need help protecting themselves. This is when you should call an employment law attorney. Here are some of the things that an employment law attorney deals with.

1. Sexual Discrimination Or Harassment

One of the main things an employment lawyer can help you with is dealing with things related to sexual discrimination or harassment. If you have someone in the workplace treating your poorly because of your gender, or even sexual orientation, then you have a right to file a lawsuit against them. This can be a good way to show that this kind of behavior is unacceptable.

This also relates to any kind of misconduct with sexual advances, joking about sexual matters, or inappropriate touch or treatment. Sexual harassment happens all too often, and without taking proper action, you won't change the situation.

2. Privacy In Personal Matters

Some laws protect you from having to disclose personal matters in the workplace. For instance, if you are being asked or mistreated because of your religious affiliation, you could have grounds for a suit. You also shouldn't have to talk about your home life if you don't want to, your relationships, your medical history and so forth. All of these things are protected so that you don't feel like you are pressured to share personal information that you are uncomfortable with, or information that you think might change the way your coworkers or employer thinks about you.

3. Time Off For Personal Matters

Each employer has to give their employees are a certain amount of time off and flexibility to be able to deal with their personal matters. You should be able to take the day off when you are ill without worrying about it negatively affecting you at work. Additionally, you should be able to take time off for family matters; something like a vacation should be protected so long as it isn't unreasonable. If you are being punished or mistreated for taking reasonable time off, then you could take action.

These are just a couple things that an employment law attorney could help you with.
